New ECM Pre-Amplifier from ASIC Advantage for Low Noise and High Sensitivity Two-Terminal ECMs Sunnyvale, CA, August 17, 2009 – ASIC Advantage, Inc. announces the introduction of a new Electret Condenser Microphone (ECM) Pre-Amplifier, the AAP200X, for high performance audio applications. This device is aimed for use in two-terminal, high-sensitivity and low noise ECMs down to 2mm diameter requiring integrated pre-amplifiers. The AAP200X offers ultra low noise, low current consumption, and low input capacitance. Key features found in the AAP200X include ultra-low input capacitance (0.35pF typical), 200µA typical quiescent current, and ultra low equivalent input noise (2.5 – 3.1 µV RMS A-weighted typical with microphone capacitor short-circuited, gain version dependent). The AAP200X also boasts THD performance below 1%, only a 0.1dB gain variation over temperature, and an output impedance of 50Ω maximum. The AAP200X is available in various gain and operating voltage combinations. Gains available are 16dB and 19dB, while the operating voltages, Vop, can be chosen as 1.25V or 1.33V. Selecting the lower Vop option allows the use of a lower, narrower, power supply voltage range as opposed to a larger, wider, power supply voltage range when using the higher Vop. The AAP200X is offered in a bumped chip scale SMD package configuration. Overall size is 630µm x 530µm with a height of 350µm, including solder bumps. Pricing in quantities of 1k begins at $0.34 in waffle pack, while pricing in quantities of 3.5K begins at $0.23 in tape and reel packaging.
