PRELIMINARY Isolated High Side IGBT and SCR Driver The AACD110 is part of AAIs new family of products with dual use for medical applications, in this case Power Management with a high side driver designed to drive high-voltage, high-current IGBTs with controlled rise time and fall time for IGBTs, SCRs or Triacs. The IGBT configuration features a 10Ω gate resistor for IGBTs/MOSFETs. The trigger pulse option allows for reduced, predictable delay (~200ns). With drive from standard 3.3V logic, the turn-on time is typically 250ns and turn-off time is typically 250ns. In the packaged solution, power and signal functions are transferred through the same transformer, eliminating the need for additional power and signal transformers or opto-couplers.
The AACD110 is offered as a component packaged in AAI’s patented N’ViveTM Embedded Magnetics packaging (0.65” x 0.35” x 0.15”). It is also offered in die form for hybrid applications, where only a driver is required to complete the solution. With transformer utilization, the design demonstrates high resistance to stray magnetic fields.
