Radiation Tolerant 14-bit 50MSPS Current Output DAC with Full Scale Current Output of 2mA to 20mA The AAHS118 is part of ASIC Advantage’s new family of Radiation Tolerant products aimed at the military and aerospace markets. The AAHS118 is a Radiation-Tolerant current output 14-bit parallel input Digital-to-Analog Converter.
The AAHS118 operates from a 4.5V to a 5.5V power supply and has a low power dissipation of 50mW, making the DAC suitable for several low voltage systems including battery-level and portable applications. Due to fast speeds inherent with current steering DACs, the AAHS118 can sample up to 50MSPS with a signal bandwidth of 10-15MHz. An onboard internal voltage reference of 1.25V provides allowance for a 2mA to 20mA full scale current output range. Alternatively, an external Vref may be utilized if the application calls for it. The AAHS118 also features a power-down SLEEP function that reduces the supply current consumption to 1 to 2mA to optimize power consumption for any system requirements.
The AAHS118 is offered in a 28-pin Ceramic SOIC package. The AAHS118 has demonstrated tolerance to 100kRad(Si) total dose (additional testing in process for tolerance to 200kRad(Si) total dose), as well as immunity to latch-up and SEE tolerance up to an LET of 83.13 MeVcm2/mg. Available standard screening includes Level “S” or Level “B,” with other requirements negotiable as in line with our capabilities.
