Radiation Tolerant 8-Channel Source Driver with Over-Current Protection and Thermal Shutdown The AAHS298A is part of AAIs new family of Radiation Tolerant products, aimed at the military and aerospace markets. The AAHS298A is a Radiation-Tolerant source driver with eight non-inverting channels, each with individual channel over-current protection. Capable of providing interface from 5V or 12V logic systems to relays, motors, solenoids and other loads, this device adds the additional benefits of an internal thermal shutdown and output transient protection/clamp diodes with sustaining voltages to 80V. Each channel features latching current protection for excess current, as well as a thermal shutdown disabling all channels. In any fault event, a FAULT output with an open-collector configuration is turned-on. A fault condition can be cleared by any of three methods: (1) cycling the supply voltage, (2) cycling the input of the faulty channel or (3) cycling the RESETB input. Each output is capable of sourcing 700mA with a withstand voltage of 80V over the full military temperature range. The over-current fault circuitry protects the channel in the event of a hard fault to ground. The Thermal Shutdown is intended to protect against over-current and soft short occurrences. The AAHS298A comes in die form, 28-Pin Ceramic SOIC or 20-Pin Ceramic SOIC. The AAHS298A has demonstrated tolerance to 200kRad(Si) total dose, as well as immunity to latch-up and SEE tolerance. Available standard screening includes Level “S” or Level “B” with other requirements negotiable as in line with our capabilities. Features
