IPS201A and IPS201B Print
Push-Pull PWM Controller
The IPS201A and IPS201B are low-voltage PWM controllers that contains all the features needed to implement Push-Pull, Half-Bridge, and Full-Bridge topologies. They are used in switch mode power supplies to provide pulse width modulation to a pair of high voltage/high current MOSFETs. Both devices include an oscillator, error amplifier, current sensing, and a regulated voltage reference output.

The IPS201 is presented in voltage mode or current mode versions. Both the frequency and the dead time are set by the user by choosing the appropriate external RC components.

FeaturesImage
  • Shunt regulator VCC supply for wide input voltage range
  • Two output drivers
  • External resistor/capacitor set the adjustable operating frequency and dead time
  • 5V output and oscillator sawtooth are available to provide slope compensation
  • Available in versions utilizing voltage mode (IPS201A) or current mode control (IPS201B)
  • Voltage mode is available with two different overcurrent sense thresholds (60mV and 700mV)
  • Industrial temperature range (-40oC to +85oC) standard
Applications
  • AC / DC power supplies
  • DC / DC power supplies
  • Flourescent lamp drivers
  • DC / AC inverters
